Lorain County Community College will hold a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration “The State of the Dreamers and Their Families: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 College Center Commons.
Veronica Isabel Dahlberg (Executive Director of HOLA Ohio) will present “DACA is Over. What’s Next?” She will discuss dreamers’ rights with the current state of DACA program. The event will also recognize and celebrate the rich history and culture surrounding the Hispanic culture, give insight of the culture, have a time of reflection, encourage and inspire the students to keep moving forward in their goals.
The event will also include a dance performance by Danza Azteca Tonantzino and music by Latin Jazz Players. The Office of Student Life is sponsoring the event and will provide free food.
