In spite of a 12-19 season record, the Lorain County Community College volleyball team ended the season with 11 Top 25 national rankings in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III; seven team rankings and four individual rankings.
The top team ranking was the total number of attempts (attacks) with 3,838, ranking 7th in the nation in the NJCAA DIII. The Lady Commodores ranked 11th in the nation with 1,140 kills and 24th with 9.74 kills per set.
The next best team category ranking was assists. LCCC ranked 9th with 1,087 assists and 18th with 9.15 assists per set.
The Lady Commodores also ranked high in digs, with 2,106, good for 11th nationally. With 18 digs per set, LCCC ranked 17th in DIII.
Two individuals ranked very high; each with two national rankings. Sophomore defensive specialist McKenzie Zauner (North Olmstead/North Olmstead) ended the season ranked 5th with 653 digs. She was 13th in digs per set with 5.68. Sophomore outside hitter Kelli Warren (Lorain/Clearview) ranked 7th with 386 kills and tied for 18th with 3.36 kills per set.
There are 103 DIII member institutions included in the NJCAA volleyball rankings.
