Lorain County Community College’s Stocker Arts Center will host a free concert by the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight, “Spirit of Freedom Brass,” in the Hoke Theatre at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 26.
“Spirit of Freedom Brass” is a performing ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight, stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. A brassy blend of sound, style and humor make them an engaging ensemble for audiences of all kinds. With five brass players and drums, the group presents the finest musical elements of American culture in the New Orleans brass band tradition. In addition to performing for U.S. presidents, visiting heads of state, and the highest levels of military leadership, “Spirit of Freedom Brass” has given performances and clinics at some of the nation’s leading universities and conservatories. Founded in 1942, the group, formerly known as Wright Brass, is the oldest continually-operating band in the U.S. Air Force and serves to honor those who have served, inspire audiences and connect the American people to the Air Force.
This concert is free. No tickets are needed. The theatre doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
