Lorain County Community College (LCCC) will hold free adult learner online information sessions to help community members transition to college. Sessions include:
Career Explorations for the Adult Learner – Finding your Fit
• 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, July 28
• 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Aug. 12
Attendees will learn how to successfully launch a career change, as well as gain knowledge on in-demand careers and financial aid. Individuals will also learn how personalized career coaching and tools can assist with new career path selection. This workshop serves as a starting point to connect individuals to career and academic advisors before enrolling.
Gaining Skills Through a Hands-On Paid Apprenticeship
• 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31
Apprenticeships are industry-driven roles during which students can develop their skills through on-the-job training so that they may succeed in their chosen career path. LCCC partners with local organizations and employers to provide support and training in a variety of apprenticeship programs including those in automation, CNC machining, electrical, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), maintenance, pipefitting, State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA), tool & die and other careers.
