The 29th annual LCCC Jack Nicklaus Scholarship Golf Benefit presented by The Beverly Cirigliano Trust is Monday, August 12 at the Elyria Country Club. This year’s event will feature PGA and Champions Tour member Mark Calcavecchia and nine-time World Long Drive Championship finalist Mike Zeigler.

Mark Calcavecchia

“We are pleased to welcome Mark Calcavecchia and Mike Zeigler to this event,” said Tracy Green, LCCC Vice President for Strategic and Institutional Development. “Over 70 percent of LCCC students receive financial support. For many of them, scholarship support is the deciding factor in whether or not they attend college and, ultimately, achieve their dreams through higher education. As we welcome our new and returning students on August 26, it is quite inspiring for them and us to see the support of our generous sponsors and community.”

Joining Mark and Mike will be LCCC Foundation friends, PGA Professional Jimmy Hanlin and Tony Rizzo, who are returning for their fourth year.

All proceeds from this golf event support the Jack Nicklaus Scholarship Endowment Fund at the LCCC Foundation. Green further noted, “Established in 1990, this fund has provided over $879,000 in financial assistance to LCCC and University Partnership students. In addition to the Nicklaus Scholarship Endowment Fund, the LCCC Foundation manages more than 212 scholarship funds. Support from these funds is a game changer for our students and is by far one of the most significant ways community members can have a direct impact.”

The event features 18 holes of golf at the beautiful Elyria Country Club, a golf exhibition by Mark Calcavecchia, skill games, golfer gifts, lunch, a reception and awards ceremony.
“Lorain County Community College is committed to helping students from all backgrounds succeed in college. We are so grateful for our community’s continued support,” Green said.
