The powerhouse all-female country band, Farewell Angelina, makes its debut at Lorain County Community College’s Stocker Arts Center at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15 in the Hoke Theatre.
This is the first show in the six-show Performing Artists Series and single tickets for this show or subscriptions for the series are now on sale at the Stocker Arts Center Box Office.
Named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, Farewell Angelina is a country band with powerhouse vocalists, dynamic songwriters and accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Each of the band members – Nicole Witt, Lisa Torres, Andrea Young and Ashley Gearing – had built successful solo careers; touring and recording with top artists, and writing songs for some of Country music’s biggest hit makers.
When they heard the undeniable magic of their voices together for the first time, they couldn’t wait to take their show on the road. Major opportunities soon followed including singing the National Anthem for Thursday Night Football, The Unbridled Eve Gala for the Kentucky Derby, the ACM All-Star Jam, and festivals in Switzerland, Norway, Spain, France, Indonesia and Malaysia.
A fan favorite, they were voted “Hot Seat” spot of the Taste of Country 2017 “RISERS” Program by over 20,000 fan votes. They’ve also been named among Rolling Stone’s “New Artists You Need To Know,” and Roughstock’s “Ones to Watch” with a tour schedule to prove it.
Farewell Angelina has opened shows for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, Jake Owen, Billy Currington, Maroon 5, and Trace Adkins, to name a few. They have joined the Bacon Brothers (Kevin & Michael) as the opening act on many of their tour dates. Most recently, they were headlining their own “Women & Wine Tour” to packed crowds across the US and Europe.
In late 2019, they were selected by American Music Abroad to represent the United States as not only performers, but as official Cultural Ambassadors of the USA. So far, this adventure has taken them across Southeast Asia, but high demand will take them to several other countries. The band released its highly anticipated “Women and Wine” EP (that the band co-produced) on January 25, 2019 to rave reviews.
Single tickets are $40 for orchestra seating; $33 for mezzanine seating and $10 for LCCC students with a valid ID, children 18 and under and active duty military with a valid ID. Valet parking is also available for $5 per car. Valet service can be purchased in advance or paid in cash at the door. Self-parking is free.
