Lorain County Community College’s Stocker Arts Center presents Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 in the Hoke Theatre of Stocker Arts Center.Terrance Simien performs with a large hat.

Imagine Mardi Gras beads being flung into the audience and joyous accordion music celebrating the heritage of Louisiana Creole music and you might be able to picture the effusive energy of a Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience concert. For more than 35 years, two-time Grammy award winning artist Terrance Simien, 8th generation Louisiana Creole, has been shattering myths about what his indigenous Zydeco roots music is and is not. He and his band mates have performed over 8500 concerts, toured millions of miles to over 45 countries, and have been musically featured in films from “The Lucky One” to Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.” Terrance Simien creates a hypnotic blend of New Orleans funk-reggae-flavored-world-blues-American Zydeco roots music.

Tickets for this event, which is part of Stocker’s Random Acts Series, are $20 for adults; $18 for seniors 65+ and $10 for LCCC students with a valid ID, youth 18 and under and active duty military with a valid ID. For more information about these events, please visit the Stocker web site.
