Scholarships for Lorain County High School Grads

No application needed

New graduates from Lorain County may be eligible for these scholarships. No application is needed as these scholarships are awarded based on information provided to LCCC by the student’s high school.

Trustee Award

Criteria: New Lorain County high school graduates who earn a minimum 3.7 high school GPA or better at the end of the sixth semester high school grading period will be eligible for this award, covering 60-72 credit hours of tuition over two consecutive years.

The recipient can use 30-36 credit hours each year at the maximum rate of 15-18 credit hours per semester. The award is a last-dollar award and requires recipients to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards can be used for tuition for courses in associate degree programs as well as LCCC courses within a University Partnership bachelor’s degree.

Recipients must earn a minimum 2.5 LCCC cumulative GPA each semester to maintain scholarship eligibility. No additional application is required for students attending a Lorain County high school.

Lorain County residents who were homeschooled can download the Trustee Scholarship Application. Awards will be determined by your ACT or SAT Test Scores.

Trustee Scholarship Acceptance Agreement

Presidential Award

Criteria: New Lorain County high school graduates who earn between a 3.4 and 3.699 high school GPA by the end of the sixth semester high school grading period will be eligible for this award, covering 40 credit hours of tuition over two consecutive years. The recipient can use 10 credit hours per semester. This award is a last-dollar award and requires recipients to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards can be used for tuition for courses in associate degree programs as well as LCCC courses within a University Partnership bachelor’s degree.

Recipients must earn a minimum 2.5 LCCC cumulative GPA each semester to maintain scholarship eligibility. No additional application is required for students attending a Lorain County high school.

Presidential Scholarship Acceptance Agreement

Diversity Incentive Award

Criteria: New Lorain County high school graduates who earn a minimum 2.5 high school GPA by the end of the sixth semester high school grading period and are of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Island, Middle Eastern, Indian or Native American descent will be eligible for this award, which is available for three years or 72 credit hours. The DIA is a last-dollar award and requires recipients to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards can be used for tuition for courses in associate degree programs as well as LCCC courses within a University Partnership bachelor’s degree.

Each recipient must enroll at LCCC on a full-time basis and work a job either on or off campus. Recipients must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater each semester to maintain award eligibility. No additional application is required for students attending a Lorain County high school.
