The Accounting Clerk Short-Term Technical Certificate applies towards other certificates and an associate degree in accounting. basic skills learned with this certificate are QuickBooks and Excel. Short-term certificates contain basic academic and technical courses. Some occupations or employers require an associate degree or higher.

Guest Services in Hospitality Online!

The Guest Service in Hospitality Short-Term Technical Certificate will provide students with some broad knowledge related to a growing field. Guest service positions are found in most areas of hospitality and tourism. Completion of this Short-Term Technical Certificate may be applied to fulfill partial requirements in the Hospitality and Tourism Management major for the Associate of Applied Business degree.

Emergency Medical Technician Online!

There are four recognized certification levels for Emergency Medical Services. Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), advanced EMT (AEMT) and Paramedic. Included in this certificate are the course that leads to EMT certification and courses that support Paramedic certification The EMT performs assessments of medical and trauma patients and appropriately cares for the patient based on the assessment. The care provided includes managing cardiac arrest, assisting ventilations, splinting, and administering medications. The EMT program is accredited by the Ohio Division of Emergency Medical Services (OH 319). Lorain County Community College has articulation agreements with colleges and universities including programs offered by Lorain County Community College’s University Partnership.

Earn nationally recognized industry credential:  Preparation for the National Registry of EMT Certification Exam.

The Medical Coder has advanced knowledge of how to accurately report diagnoses and procedure codes through the application of official coding guidelines and the use of current year coding manuals. They will learn to effectively identify, understand, and utilize medical codes as they will be applicable to physician reimbursement in the field of healthcare. State Tested Nursing Assistant

The nurse aide or nursing assistant performs basic nursing related services to patients and residents in a long-term facility. Computer Information Systems - Web Design Fundamentals Online!

The short-term technical certificate web design fundamentals represent the successful completion of select web development courses that prepare the student to develop simple web sites.  Completion of this certificate prepares the student for entry-level web design positions or for further study leading to an associate degree in web development. It is also especially well-suited for those individuals with professional experience and/or a degree, especially IT-related, that may want to upgrade their skills to include web design.

Electronics Fabrication

The Applied Electronics (ELCT) Electronics Fabrication Certificate is designed to provide the student with the entry-­level knowledge and practical skills necessary for employment in the electronic/electrical industry. Students will learn to use standard and specialized electronic test equipment in the laboratory. Upon successful completion students will earn the J-STD-001 Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) certificate which focuses on the knowledge and hand skills employees need to produce high quality soldered interconnections. Environmental and Safety Technician

Prepare for entry to mid-level employment in the environmental remediation industry. Training includes:

  • HAZWOPER, general safety, hazardous materials handling, safety equip-ment, first aide, CPR and working in confined spaces.
  • Course consists of 162 contact hours of training and includes (9) semester credit hours from Lorain County Community College (LCCC).
  • All program courses meet OSHA standards.
  • Most classes will be offered online.

The Federal OSHA certifications earned by program graduates will help ensure their successful employment in environmental remediation occupations, while the 9 credit hours will enable students to continue their education in environmental remediation.

Industrial Safety Technology/Technician

The Entry Level Industrial Safety Technology/Technician prepares individuals to assist engineers and other professionals in implementing and enforcing industrial safety standards.  The graduate will be prepared for a wide range of positions in the areas of Occupational and Industrial safety.  Lorain County Community College has articulation agreements with colleges and universities including programs offered by LCCC's University Partnership.
