Pre-Pharmacy

As medication experts, pharmacists work in a variety of settings including hospitals and retail pharmacy locations. LCCC offers partnerships with Duquesne University and Northeast Ohio Medical University so you can begin your career as a pharmacist close to home and transfer your credits to complete your degree.
Partnership with Duquesne University
Begin your PharmD degree at LCCC by taking advantage of our articulation agreement with Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. In this nationally-recognized program, you can take your first two years of coursework at LCCC and transfer to Duquesne where you can customized your education based on interest by offering several elective concentration tracks that include:
- Geriatrics
- Pediatrics
- Pharmacy Management
- Community Pharmacy Practice
- Acute Care Pharmacy Practice
- Pharmaceutical Research
- Entrepreneurism
You must be accepted into LCCC associate degree program as a freshmen and complete the first two years of undergraduate work at LCCC. This Articulation Agreement facilitates transfer after completing the LCCC associate of science in pre-pharmacy degree and successful passage of the PCAT exam into the 2+4 PharmD program at Duquesne University.

Partnership with Northeast Ohio Medical University
Jumpstart your journey to an engaging and fulfilling career in pharmacy by completing your pre-requisite coursework close to home at LCCC. Our articulation agreement with Northeast Ohio Medical University – the only college of pharmacy in Northeast Ohio – creates a clear, streamlined and affordable path in into the NEOMED pharmacy program and sets you up for a successful transition into pharmacy school.
In addition, by enrolling in the LCCC program, you are eligible to participate in the NEOMED Early Assurance Program (EAP) and secure a seat in a future pharmacy class. As part of the EAP, you will have opportunities to get connected to the NEOMED community through peer advising, job shadowing, prospective student workshops, and networking with faculty and current students.
Students in the College of Pharmacy have access to amazing faculty, alumni and clinical training sites in Northeast Ohio and outside of our region as well. Students have the opportunity to complete experiential rotations at all of the region’s major health providers, including the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Metro Health System and Summa just to name a few. With over 50 pharmacy faculty members to engage with, opportunities abound whether you are interested in advanced clinical practice, community pharmacy or research. Most of our faculty are practicing pharmacists who bring their real-world experiences into the classroom every single day.
NEOMED graduates have achieved exceptional outcomes over the past few years, with some of the highest pass rates on the NAPLEX and MPJE exams in the state of Ohio and the nation, and residency and job placement rates consistently above the national average.
