The LCCC Covid Task Force is monitoring CDC data for COVID cases in Lorain County with a focus on 7-day total of cases per 100,000.  The CDC has advised that masks should be worn indoors for counties with  substantial  or high  spread.  Substantial spread means at least 50 new cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days, while high transmission is more than 100 cases per 100,000 people over the last week.

As of November 24, CDC data indicates that Lorain County is at 418.94 per 100,000, indicating high spread.

Health and Wellness Students and Vaccines

LCCC strongly encourages, but does not require, students to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. However, students pursuing health and wellness programs for which clinical experiences will occur in healthcare settings should be aware that vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by local healthcare facilities.

In an environment in which such requirements are still rapidly changing, students should also be aware that clinical site policies are subject to ongoing changes. LCCC, as well as its clinical partners, are not able to change individual student placements without disruption to students’ progress in their program of study.

Health and Wellness students are strongly encouraged to receive vaccination prior to acceptance into their programs in order to fulfill clinical requirements in full. More information about accessing a COVID-19 vaccination site.
