COVID-19 Update from Dr. Harry Kestler – February 22, 2022

Spring Semester 2022 Student Information

We are excited to have you as part of our LCCC community for Spring 2022. Whether new, returning, or continuing, we welcome you and are here to help you along the way.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to monitor and respond to guidance set forth by local, state, and federal public health officials. While attending LCCC during Spring 2022, it will be important to monitor updates and college wide changes on this page, through RAVE Alerts, Canvas, and your personal LCCC email.

We encourage all spring 2022 students to be prepared with technology to adapt to changes in individual classes, student engagement opportunities, or personal circumstances you may encounter.  This technology includes:

  • Reliable internet at home or accessible off-campus
  • Laptop or home computer
  • Microphone and camera for engagement in virtual meetings, appointments, and classes

More information is available in our Student Technology Guide.

The Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC) is here to help you access financial and other basic need resources, including the additional federal relief funds LCCC has received to assist students during the pandemic.

Health and Wellness Students and Vaccines

LCCC strongly encourages, but does not require, students to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. However, students pursuing health and wellness programs for which clinical experiences will occur in healthcare settings should be aware that vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by local healthcare facilities.

In an environment in which such requirements are still rapidly changing, students should also be aware that clinical site policies are subject to ongoing changes. LCCC, as well as its clinical partners, are not able to change individual student placements without disruption to students’ progress in their program of study.

Health and Wellness students are strongly encouraged to receive vaccination prior to acceptance into their programs in order to fulfill clinical requirements in full.
