Based on the bestselling novel by Fredrik Backman, author of “A Man Called Ove,” this warmhearted comedy finds Britt-Marie, age 63, suddenly re-considering her purpose and habits after leaving her husband of 40 years. Accepting a supremely unglamorous job at a ramshackle rec center in the backwater town of Borg, she finds herself taking an interest in the daily routines of the town’s oddball denizens – who all seem perfectly content to be stuck in their ways. Determined not to do the same, she takes on the impossible task of coaching the children’s soccer team and draws the attention, and possible affections of, a handsome police officer. Perhaps there is an opportunity for a second chance after all.

“An endearing portrait of someone forced to make significant life changes and becoming a better person in the process, through simple human contact.” – Frank Swietek, ONE GUY’S OPINION

“Dig beneath the underdog clichés, and this modest Swedish drama provides a heartfelt examination of self-discovery and starting over.” – Todd Jorgenson, CINEMALOGUE

“This is a small, sweet work that finds notes of grace that elevate it into something bordering on inspirational.” – Steven Prokopy, THIRD COAST REVIEW

“A lovely tale of reinvention from the writer of A MAN CALLED OVE, featuring Swedish acting royalty Pernilla August.” – James Verniere, BOSTON HERALD
