Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience with very special guest, Marcella Simien, celebrate Christmas on the Bayou.

Join us for a memorable performance featuring father and daughter, Terrance and Marcella Simien, on one stage. As you can imagine, it is pure magic! It’s also the festive feeling of Mardi Gras and a French Quarter New Orleans holiday, all wrapped up in this special evening. This group and their repertoire are as diverse as the culture of Louisiana. You will hear the sweet sounds of the holidays, the lively tunes of Mardi Gras and the mystical vibes of Creole music from the bayou. Putting a bow on the astonishing lead vocals and gorgeous harmonies is an authentic New Orleans horn section.

Just a sampling of the songs curated for this unique holiday show: “Baby Please Come Home” U2 style, “Bells Will be Ringing” inspired by Stevie Wonder, “Go Tell it On the Mountain” traditional gospel with a twist, and more joyful zydeco music that will put a smile on your face and make you move to the music!

For nearly 40 years, two-time GRAMMY award winning Terrance Simien, an 8th generation Louisiana Creole, has been performing exhilarating, dynamic, joyous Zydeco music which celebrates the heritage of Louisiana Creole music. Simien leads the massively skilled Zydeco Experience band and together they have performed over 10,000 concerts, toured millions of miles to over 45 countries during their eventful career. They have been musically featured in films from “The Lucky One” to Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.” Terrance Simien creates a hypnotic blend of New Orleans funk-reggae-flavored-world-blues-American Zydeco roots music that beckons you to your feet and into the groove.  https://www.terrancesimien.com/

Marcella Simien, Terrance’s daughter, was practically born onstage and grew up immersed in sound and performance. She holds a degree from Memphis College of Art, which is what originally brought her to Memphis. She has forged her own pathways in the local, national, and international music scenes, following her heart as an artist while wielding the torch of a Creole dynasty. Confident, composed and courageous, Marcella is a bona fide artist in her own right, and a force of nature as she performs together with her father and The Zydeco Experience for this special evening of phenomenal music!  https://marcellasimien.com/
