Suicide Lifeguard is a free app for anyone concerned about someone who may be thinking of suicide. Includes specific resources for: Military/Veterans, LGTBQ, Spanish speaking individuals, and the deaf or hard of hearing.
Headspace teaches the user meditation/mindfulness strategies to reduce anxiety and stress and improve attention and awareness. The skills taught include mindfulness, breathing exercises, meditation practice, tips for increased relaxation, and concentration. This app may be helpful to manage anxiety, depression, PTSD, and obsessive/compulsive disorder (OCD), in conjunction with a health provider.
Breath2Relax is an app designed to teach breathing techniques to manage stress. The skills taught may be applied to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This app can be personalized to a pace that the user finds relaxing. It includes a video demo, reading materials, and charts to map personal progress.
Calm is the #1 app for meditation and mindfulness. 100+ guided meditations assist the user in managing anxiety, lowering stress levels, and improving sleep. Calm is the perfect mindfulness app for beginners, but also includes hundreds of programs for intermediate and advanced users.
MindShift will assist user gain basic skills to manage symptoms of anxiety, including performance anxiety, test anxiety, and perfectionism. It offers a list of active coping strategies including: “Chill out” tools such as breathing exercises, mental imagery, and mindfulness strategies and “Quick Tips” to assist with anxiety in the moment.
Virtual Hope Box (VHB)
Virtual Hope Box (VHB) is an app designed for users and their behavioral health providers as an accessory to treatment. The VHB contains simple tools to help teach coping skills, relaxation skills, distraction skills, and positive thinking. User can personalize content according to specific needs.
