Here is a step-by-step process to help you enroll and receive your veteran education benefits.

  1. Admission Application
    You can complete the admissions application online, in person at the Enrollment Services front desk or at an LCCC Learning Center.
  2. Meet with Veteran Services
    Veteran Services is located in CC 202 (above Starbucks), and they are ready to go through any questions you may have regarding your VA Education Benefits. You must meet with this office to complete and sign your Veterans Responsibility Agreement.
  3. Apply for VA Education Benefits
    If you already know which veterans education benefit you want to use, apply online at: eBenefits – Apply for Benefits
  4. Request Transcripts
    If you have previously attended other colleges, you must request that official copies of your military and college transcripts be sent to LCCC.
    For Army, Coast Guard, Navy and Marine Corps Transcripts visit: Joint Services Transcript
    For Air Force Transcripts visit: Air University
    If you don’t, you may be subject to having your benefits terminated according to Section 1775 of Title 38 U.S. Code. You may also use your prior experience to gain college credit through meeting with a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Coordinator.
  5. Sign Up for Financial Aid
    Students using VA Educational Benefits are still able to receive financial aid. These additional funds help pay for tuition, books and supplies, while awaiting VA Educational Benefits. All remaining financial aid not used is refunded directly to students.
  6. Assess Your Skills
    Once you’ve applied and been accepted, you will need to complete the Accuplacer Assessment before scheduling classes. The Accuplacer Assessment will identify your strengths and weaknesses in reading, writing and math. (If you have transfer credits, you may be exempt from LCCC’s Placement Assessment test.)
  7. Create a MyCampus Account
    MyCampus is the online tool LCCC students use to register for classes, view grades and much more.
  8. Orientation and College Student Inventory
    Each new student is required to complete the College Student Inventory (CSI). The CSI helps create an open dialogue, which may be with an advisor regarding individual support and challenges you may face in starting college. You can compete the CSI and orientation through your MyCampus account.
  9. Register for Classes
    You can register for classes online through your MyCampus account or at Enrollment Services. (You may only register for classes that apply directly to your degree program)
  10. Complete your Online Cert Request
    You must complete a cert request each semester after scheduling classes, in order to receive VA funding. You can complete this form online
