(A unifying symbol of courage, survival, honor and dedication to ending and raising awareness about the crime of domestic violence.)  Families and friends of victims have adopted the purple ribbon to remember and honor their loved ones who have lost their lives at the hands of a person they once loved and trusted.

Social media can play a major role in abusive relationships. People are using technology to control and abuse their partners in many different ways. As technology evolves and permeates into our daily lives, so does the abusive partner’s ability to exploit it to cause harm and create fear. This presentation will tell an Instagram story of one such abusive relationship and shine a light on the red flags that could have prevented a tragedy.
